MISSION:
The mission for Women of the Word is to build a Faith Foundation for ALL women of SMOY, through Bible Study, Spiritual Reflection, and Fellowship.
We meet on Wednesdays at the church from 9:15 to 11:30 during the school year. In the summer, we have small groups that meet sporadically at member’s homes. We have Advent and Lenten Reflections, sponsor Stations of the Cross and a Rosary, host speakers, hold prayer walks, have secret angels for Christmas, and holiday parties throughout the year.
MEETING TIMES: Wednesdays during school year, 9:15 – 11:30
TIME COMMITMENT: 2 hours a week, plus about 1 hour prep time
SCRIPTURE STUDY -- Fall Session begins September 16, 2009
This fall, we will be studying the Quick Study of The Bible Timeline by Jeff Cavins, Sarah Christmyer, and Dr. Tim Gray. This study gives the "Big Picture" of the Bible covering 14 narrative books that tell the story from the beginning to end - chronologically - in a way that is easy to remember and understand. It sets up a foundation for other reading and study. "Parishes around the world are finding renewed faith and increased involvement among parishioners whose lives have been changed by this exciting study series." It is endorsed by Francis Cardinal George, O. M. I., Archbishop of Chicago.
We may add a Sunday evening session from 6:30 - 8:00 if there is enough interest.
