MISSION:
The mission for Women of the Word is to build a Faith Foundation for ALL women of SMOY, through Bible Study, Spiritual Reflection, and Fellowship.
We meet on Wednesdays at the church from 9:15 to 11:30 during the school year. In the summer, we have small groups that meet sporadically at member’s homes. We have Advent and Lenten Reflections, sponsor Stations of the Cross and a Rosary, host speakers, hold prayer walks, have secret angels for Christmas, and holiday parties throughout the year.
MEETING TIMES: Wednesdays during school year, 9:15 – 11:30
TIME COMMITMENT: 2 hours a week, plus about 1 hour prep time

We will begin on Wednesday, September 17th and meet for 10 weeks.
SCRIPTURE STUDY Fall 2008:
We will be using the Little Rock Study Book entitled, Letters from Prison (formerly Paul’s Captivity Letters). We usually do one chapter a week. We are planning on having two speakers in the fall. Those weeks may have additional chapters to cover.
In January, we will begin reading and Living in The Power of The Holy Spirit: A Catholic Bible Study. We are planning on having one speaker in the middle of the term give a lecture on The Holy Spirit.
The cost of each book is approximately $10, payable to SMOY when you pick it up.
