Education Commission UpdateFebruary 2008 | Vision | To be a community involved and engaged in nurturing our youth as they grow in wisdom, age and grace. | | Mission | The young people in our community will: 1. understand and use the talents God has given them; 2. maximize their intellect and warmly reach out to the world in the name of Christ. | | 2006-07 Accomplishments | · Re-Launched Education Commission Subcommittees (7)· Offered youth driven engagement programs to keep teens connected to the parish after leaving the SMOY school /CCD programs· Launched the Strategic Planning Process for SMOY School· Renewed and grew the Technology Fund for the school· Worked to better integrate the Ed Commission by engaging members with school kids, CCD kids, and no kids.· Got commitment cards from every single 8th grader as to talent, giving opportunities at their high school |
